I think the administrator made the point well in reasons why not to use this dog food. But when a person says this is basically the best they can afford, or that they’ve tried many other brands and this is what works for their particular dog, how can you still be mean and talk badly about them for feeding this food. I’ve said a million times I don’t have a problem with you or anyone based on what they feed their dog, in fact I actually hope to learn some things when I come on this post, but it’s hard when many of the people posting have never been inside a manufacturing facility and they haven’t personally trial tested many of the brands. Michelle, if I haven’t said it previously I’m saying it now (throwing in the white flag) = truce. Listen I don’t come on here to make enemies, I think it’s good that you and many others are self conscious of the diet you feed your pet that’s a good thing, I just think you can learn to make your point about why it’s better without being demeaning and hurtful to the people who don’t feed Merrick dog food and the other $50 and above brands. So do you agree this is a truce and let’s use our knowledge to help the readers of this forum and most importantly listen to their opinions as well.

And not to beat a dead horse, but when I say that if a diet works for a particular dog I think the analogy if it isn’t broke don’t try to fix it is best recommended. Many people on my job have adopted being vegetarians, while I don’t personally agree with the diet for myself, I can’t deny their is an improvement in health for those individuals and I can’t bash them for doing what they feel is best for their dietary needs. Trust me all dogs are different. I’ve seen some dogs who couldn’t tolerate dog food comparisons but they had to have prescription diets, if you’ve ever saw one of those overpriced bland blends of dry dog food you would think Ol Roy dog food was top shelf premium kibble. But somehow those prescription diets work best for the dogs that are prescribed on them so that’s why I say always that if it works for your dog then that’s the best diet for that particular dog. I don’t mean hey go out and buy the cheapest food you can find and make that the best diet for your dog, but when you know this is what works, who are we to tell someone differently? Again, I think you are a great pet owner, and you are definitely headed in the right direction.
